Pretending is an Oregon-based band who infuses elements of punk, screamo, and metal all to create a unique genre which they describe as “flowerviolence”. Formed in 2019 at the height of the Covid pandemic, members Tom Wyka, Jesse Wallis and Liam Welsch had the mission of bringing people together through shared experiences of both pain and sadness. The band has created a unique and lasting impact with a preeminent mesh of different genres and intense melodic sounds unlike any other bands in the modern music scene. They have gone on to produce several highly regarded releases by both fans and critics alongside an extensive touring history including 35 states and a stretch of Canada.
